Polarizing camera PolarCam has been used to image the sun’s corona during the eclipse, demonstrating unique, real-time measurements of polarization in the sun’s atmosphere.
Imaging for autonomous travel
Polarimetry can be used to see obscured man-made objects in natural environments. It’s also capable of generating 3D imagery from a single frame, which could be extra-useful in driver-assist artificial intelligence programs.
